SUMMARY: A look at the Haitian Championnat National de Football history reveals the difficulties that soccer has encountered in Haiti. Despite of their trouble political past, Haiti nearly made the 1970 World Cup finishing second behind Elsalvador through a playoff, qualified for the the 1974 World Cup, and finished 2nd again behind Mexico in 1978.
